Almost Off the Dock

We have been pushing through the heat and have most everything ready to get off this HOT dock. We are hoping that once we are anchored our boat will be cooler. When at anchor the wind is always sweeping down the boat and hopefully through our hatches.  We found a used 9.9 outboard for our dingy. This gives us 3 outboards for our dingy until we can find someone to take the other 2 off our hands. We also found the best fishing store in Florida. We knew before we even went inside, because the owner was out front on the sidewalk catching some rays on an adirondack chair with his shirt off. He ended up giving us a great package deal for a lightweight pole, gaff hook, squid lures, swivels, and hooks. We would definitely go back to him if we needed anything else. Today was sewing day!  Thank you mom for putting me in sewing classes growing up, and for my AMAZING Sailrite sewing machine.  We got both sails seamed up and put on the boat.

Lucy is tired of running errands.

We Gave In

After watching our neighbors across the dock install a small window air conditioning unit, visiting our neighbors on the end of the dock that have an a/c unit, and not sleeping for the past week, we broke down today and got the cheapest/smallest a/c window unit we could find. We had to custom make some duct work to get it to flow through a hatch window, which definitely makes us look like livaboards now.  We are still waiting for the locking mechanism for our engines and we are starting to get a little stir crazy wasting money being docked at the marina.  On the bright side we have been knocking things off our "list" left and right, this doesn't stop the "list" from getting longer though. How does that happen?  Well, we live on a boat. That's how.

Dog Beach

We have found the coolest beach I have ever been to.  It is called Walton Rocks Beach and it is the only "dog beach" I have ever been to.  There are dogs everywhere.  Dogs running down the beach, swimming, surfing, laying out, you name it the dogs are doing it.  We especially love it because it gives Lucy time to run and play with other dogs.  She is 5 now, but keeps up with the puppies.  I think if it was up to her, she would swim all day long.
Preston also finished the shelves for the lockers to give us more storage space!!! YAY!  Also everything we are doing seems weird, and we have decided it's because we are missing 1/3 of our crew.  Dan should be back in the next couple weeks, but till then we are adjusting to not having him around.
